Father Fats Social Media Policy

Father Fats Public House is part of the Stevens Point community, serving customers fresh, local, diverse cuisine different from chain restaurants. Our management and employees are very passionate about what we do on a daily basis. We believe in open communication and we encourage you to tell thecommunity and surrounding communities about your work and share your passion for our food and service. We embrace the use of social media to communicate even further than word of mouth. Having a presence on social media allows us to create and further relationships with customers and surrounding communities. However, we do want to avoid any problems and misunderstandings, so to maintain our integrity we have created a few guidelines to follow when posting on any social media sites about our company:

  • Protect Yourself: Be careful about what personal information you share online.
  • Honor Our Differences: Father Fats will not tolerate discrimination including age, sex, race, color, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, citizenship, disability, marital status, or any other legally recognized protected basis under federal, state, or local laws, regulations or ordinances.
  • Professionalism: Employees using social media are expected to act professionally. Any online communication/posts should align with Father Fats values.
  • Your Job Comes First: Unless you are an authorized Social Media Manager, don’t let social media affect your job performance.
  • Employee Social Media Rights: Employees have the right to social media outside of work. However, when posting on personal social media sites, employees must brand their online posts as personal. Where your connection to Father Fats or any of the company’s restaurants are apparent, make it clear that you are speaking for yourself and not on behalf of Father Fats.
  • Integrity is Our Most Important Commodity: Avoid writing or posting anything that would embarrass Father Fats or compromise your ability to do your job.
  • Privacy: Even if you use privacy tools (determining who can view your page or profile), assume that everything you write, exchange or receive on a social media site is public.
  • Respond to Disrespect, Respectfully: If negative comments or posts are made on any of our social media sites we ask that you handle these situations delicately. Respond with a sincere apology and take steps to ensure that the customer feels Father Fats is going to resolve their grievance.
  • Creative Commons: Employees must follow Creative Common license when posting or sharing content from outside sources. Father Fats uses the Attribution Creative Common: “This content/post can be shared or used but requires acknowledgement to Father Fats and the affiliate creator.”
  • Copyright: Proper copyright and reference laws are to be followed by employees when posting online. Credit must be given to the owner within the post.
  • Sharing is Caring: Overall, we really enjoy spreading knowledge about our restaurant. Please share posts that Father Fats directly makes about upcoming events, new dishes or drinks you enjoy, and other information we post.
